Fed: Fans welcome Cousins at airport
MELBOURNE, Dec 16 AAP - Troubled AFL star Ben Cousins has touched down in Melbourne
to a crush of media and Richmond supporters ahead of his first training session with the
Tigers on Wednesday.
Cousins, wearing a grey pinstripe suite and a white shirt, said little to waiting journalists
but signed several autographs as the media throng swirled around him as he left the Qantas
terminal.
He promised a press conference on Wednesday.
At least 50 Richmond supporters, many dressed in the club's famous yellow and black
colours, were waiting to greet their newest football star as he arrived from Perth.
Tigers fan Tim Zuehlke was there with children Josh, Zack and Emily, the boys dressed
in Tigers jumpers.
"He'll be a gun player for the club," Mr Zuehlke said.
"Cousins' past should be forgotten. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone's human.
"It will be good to see him come out for Richmond and Carlton (who clash in round one
of the 2009 season) to show all the people that are judging him."
